I Prefer Shoes, Thanks

I don't know what it is with all these hats, but people seem to think that they are my favorite thing. First my mom buys me a new hat and now I just received a handmade hat from Mimi. It was awfully kind of her, and it goes very nicely with my scarf, but I am not into hats! I prefer going hatless thank you very much.

Mom has none of it though. As soon as she pulled the hat out of the package it went straight onto my head (and I had just taken off the other one). Here's the results of my photo sess.

New Hat and Hair

So my mom has been trying to make me wear a hat for a long time, but it's just not my thing. I don't like being pent up, and a winter hat is suffocating. Mom bought me this pink hat and told me that it was sooooo cute on me and I kinda took the bait. If somebody tells me I look good in something, well that makes me want to wear it. It worked with the scarf, so I guess it will work with the hat too.

My mom is really clever because she gets me to do what she wants. I even stayed still for her while she gave me a haircut (well as still as I could). There are only a few uneven spots in my new hairdo. I didn't really want to pose for this second picture, but she talked me into doing that too.

Hang on World, I'm Taking a Call

I just wanted to show off my fancy new scarf that my mom knitted for me. I have to say that periwinkle is definitely my color. She made it just in time as the New York weather has gone from 50's and 60's to 20's and below in just the past week. I'm feeling winter now folks, and is it COLD. I'm glad that I have my passport, because I think that a Mexico vacation is in the works. I'm actually calling my travel agent now to see what she can set up for my parents and me.

I am the Queen of my Brush!

I have learned how to style my hair, and boy is it a relief. No more of my mom and dad tugging on my snarls. In about 2 minutes I can tame my uncontrollable locks, so that they form a very stylish dew like the one you see here. Wow am I babelicious. (And may I add...check out my full set of pearly whites. No, they are not veneers, just my inheritance of the fabulous Weiss family teeth.)

My Uncle's International "Friend"

My uncle Steven had company for Christmas this year in the form of a blond bombshell named Nora. Uncle Steve calls her his "Friend" while she calls him "My Love". I guess that cat is out of the bag.
Regardless, I think that Nora is really nice and friendly. She gave me some great gifts like a singing flower that was actually a point of contention because Pops told Nora that it was really from China, not Budapest (according to the label on the bottom). I guess it is better that she learn about Pop's picking attitude sooner rather than later. I told Pops that I don't really care where the flower is from as long as I can sing and dance with it all the time. Unfortunately I couldn't take it home because it didn't fit in our luggage on the way back to New York. I was very sad.

My La Quinta Vacation

I spent Christmas and the New Year in La Quinta, a small Californian town. I don't know much about weather yet, but I sure liked the sunny skies and warm temperatures of the lower latitudes (or is it longitudes?) I also enjoyed the preferred mode of transportation- my wagon.

During my vacation I discovered that I am an avid golfer. As soon as I had a plastic kiddie club in my hands I was putting the golf balls around like a pro.

Dad taught me a couple of techniques and then Grammy taught me how to wack it.

I was even able to drive the golf cart around...(with supervision of course!)

Christmas #2

My moment with Elmo. Yes, I am a very lucky girl this year because I received the highly coveted Tickle Me Elmo doll. He is so silly, but I have to say that his laughing fits scare me a little bit. He just can't stop laughing!
This is me and blankie in front of the La Quinta Christmas tree. I was feeling a little under the weather, but still interested in all of the gifts.

The Train Show

Mom and I went to the Train Show at the Botanical Gardens and it was really cool! I didn't know what it was about at first, but when I saw those trains chugging along I became really involved in the excitement of it all. I also got to see famous New York architecture in my size. How cool is that? Look at me, I'm almost taller than the Statue of Liberty!

Can you see the trolley car in this picture? It took me a minute at first, but once I figured out it was above me, I couldn't get enough of it.

Rocking With My Pals at Rockerfeller

Since I am a New York City girl, my parents felt it was necessary that I see the tree at Rockerfeller Center. Little did I know that Spongebob, the Grinch, and Elmo would be there too. OH,WOW! I was lucky enough to get my picture taken with them, but I was so enthralled that I forgot to look at the camera. It really is me in the picture, I SWEAR!

Trimming the Tree

Boy, Mom and Dad are sure lucky that I came along, because I had to do all the work putting up the tree while they sipped champagne...I guess that is a family tradition from my dad's side of the family. Here is me picking out the tree. There were a lot to choose from, but I knew that we needed a tall skinny tree.
I think that putting the tree in the stand was the most fun. I really enjoyed twisting the screws into the tree. Mom and dad didn't think I was strong enough, but I showed them a thing or two.
And lastly I untangled all of the lights so that mom could put them on the tree while I napped. It took awhile, but I got the job done. The tree looked beautiful with all of the ornaments on it. I can't stop saying "Oh, Wow" every time I see it.
Update: I have become very fond of taking the ornaments off the tree, sucking on them, and then hurling them across the room. What fun!

Muffinhead

Mom and I went to Lenny's the other day because we had run out of coffee, and I saw the muffins. Wow, they looked so good I had to point at them and tell mom "MMMMmmmmMMmmm" so that she understood how I felt. (Even though I have never had a muffin in my life, I'm more of a croissant girl). Mom bought me a muffin and here I am, a very satisfied girl indeed.

I Rocked Thanksgiving

I spent Thanksgiving near the city pictured below and I had a great time rockin' there. I ate a ton of food, shopped, walked, and rocked. I must have had Thanksgiving turkey for three days straight. YUM. I also was able to see 3 of my uncles who I don't see very often. I was afraid of them at first, but then I warmed up to them all.

I also got to see Mimi and Pops. Pops had siatica so he was walking like an old man, even though he looks pretty young in the picture. It was a really nice Thanksgiving and I'm glad that I was able to spend it in California with Lulu. I sure fattened her up.

My First Visit to Vermont

I just returned from Vermont where I visited with William. He is the son of my mom's good friend from college. I had a great time with him because he is really cute and really nice and he doesn't mind it when I give him kisses. He actually smiles really cutely. His toys are AMAZING. Daddy thinks that boys definitely have better toys (while girls have better clothes of course). He has an airplane toy that I mastered in 5 minutes and was flying around everywhere to "Welcome on board, buckle up, here we go, BRRRRRRROOOOOOMMMM". We went to a farm and saw cows really close up. Boy do they stink. I much prefered the warm restaurant we went to afterwards filled with people I could say "hi" and "bye" to.

Here is William and me in the playroom that our parents locked us up in. I learned all about kiddie gates which I never knew existed.

This is my mommies friend, Marchini, who I love to play with because she is so funny. She likes to turn me upside down and then tickle me. We had so much fun playing.

This is me on William's chair. I enjoyed watching TV upside down.

Mimi's Visit

Well Mimi visited for a whirlwind weekend and we had so much fun! We went to the Botanical gardens again because they were so great the first time and this visit I was able to smell the roses. Wow they were so fragrant!

Even though the exhibit was eye candy, it still wasn't able to tempt me away from the glasses.

We went to the park and swung on the swings which is always a blast. I yelled out "wee!" really loudly and all the kids stared at me like I was a loon, but I really didn't care because I was swinging higher than them all.

Here I am pushing my own babies. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to have twins, because the double stroller is really great- it's such a good workout!

Mimi was excited with all of the progress I have made. She was really impressed at my fascination with shoes. I can play with a shoe for a half an hour or more, the ties are so challenging. Next month when I see her for Thanksgiving, maybe I'll even be able to tie them myself!

October ReCap

Well October has been a very long and eventful month and it's not even over yet!! I went to the Bronx Botanical Gardens at the beginning of the month with my mom and dad to view the Chihuly Exhibit. WOW. That's all I have to say about that.

I really enjoyed the goldfish too.

I have also begun school part-time and I love it. I have some great new friends like the girl sitting in the front seat next to me. She's my best friend and we like to gossip all the time. We go out to the neighborhood petstore and park to get some fresh air and this is our mode of transportation.

This is me and my new friend Sofie. I met her last week, so she is probably twice as big as she was in this picture. I really like babies so it was a really important moment in my life.

My Auntie Jill, who is my godmother, visited me last weekend. Her company is making her work out of a little town in New Jersey because they needed somebody to fill in. I guess she was the only one for the job, but I am happy about it because I got to hang out with her all weekend. She's really silly. You should also admire my new sweater dress, which is my most fabulous new piece for the season.

Pretty In Pink

Mom went to H&M the other day and bought me a whole new winter wardrobe!! The best thing is that she didn't break the bank. I tried on a lot of the clothes and really like them, especially my new Bambi shirt (not pictured).

I have on my new down jacket/vest and sweater. I know that I look like a pink snowball, but I'm still the cutest right? I don't really care as much about all the clothes as I do about playing hide-and-seek with dad. Gotta run (literally;)!

I Love Spaghetti

I think that I was Italian in a previous life because I just love spaghetti; puckering up my lips and sucking the noodles in is my new favorite thing. It is really messy too and I love to make messes. When I throw food off the side of my highchair it makes my mommy act really silly. She gets a mean face and starts to act all crazy. I mean really, who cares if spaghetti and meatballs are all over the floor? Doesn't she know that I'll have it for a snack later?

Phonaholic

My name is Boopsieboo and I am addicted to telephones. I love any phone with a dial tone, but don't try to fool me with a cell phone sans battery. I DON'T like dead phones. If it doesn't beep I get PISSED. I have been known to throw phones across the room if they won't make the appropriate noises. I stayed with my grammy and gramps this past weekend and gramps tried to trick me with his cell phone minus battery. I would have none of it. I'm no fool. I love calling Mimi in California and saying "babababba's". I also like crank calling. I've been known to call my parents or their friends when I'm playing with their cell phones. I have to say, phones are the best toys in the whole world.

Living in a Broccoli World

It may be because my mom ate so much broccoli when I was in her stomach, but I just LOVE the stuff! Yummy! I also love raisins and I know my mom ate a lot of chocolate covered ones when I was just a fetus. I also love raviolis and spagetti and food. I just love to eat food. Thought I would share that tidbit of information with you all.
Grammy was very excited when I ate her Tilapia the other night. I think she even cried. She said, "I know I made a good meal when my grandaughter will eat the fish". (Sniff, sniff)

It's Been a Long Time Baby

I'm sure you are all wondering where I have been (and getting tired of my cleavage shot). Well I've been in a beautiful fantasyland called Telluride where my parents rented a house so that we could escape the hustle and bustle of New York for a couple of weeks. I had so much fun on my vacation in Telluride that I was unable to post for awhile, but don't worry, I'll make this one extra long to make up for lost time.

Well on route to Telluride I met up with Deanbug at the Denver airport. He is sooo cute, and I had so much fun playing with him. He is still crawling so I walked and he tried to use me as a crutch to stand. Most times he would just knock me over, so I had to keep running away from him.

We got to do a lot of great things together...

...like play the guitar...

...read books...

...and take baths.

I also was able to do things that I never even knew about like...

...ride on a gondola...

...drive an all-terrain vehicle...

And things I did know about like...

...play in the park...

...hike in the mountains...

...cuddle with Lulu...

...and Auntie Kate.

Look at this cool picture my mom took of Pops standing on a mushroom!

And one last look from Telluride, Bear Creek Falls, where I hiked to with mom & dad.
