I'm New and Improved 3

Bye bye Terrible Twos, hello Happy, Always listen to Mommy and Daddy Threes! I had a three day birthday for my 3rd birthday and it has been overwhelming, but my more mature self can handle it. Here are some candid shots of me, the birthday girl.
I easily blew the candles out, something I haven't achieved until this year.
I even have a new boyfriend, in the form of Spongebob.

I went to Times Square and rode the ferris wheel in Toys R Us. Then we went to Ellen's Stardust Diner for lunch. I was speechless the whole meal. I think I've found my calling- Broadway.

Driving to Brammy's

Tales from the couch part 2...

Memories...

I am going through a lot of old photos for a school project and I found this little gem of myself talking on the phone. (I think it is circa spring 2007)

Things that are the same:
I still love my Bee, and I take it almost everywhere.
I try to play with Playdoh whenever I can.
I still talk on the cell phone, but not as much.
I can make my room this messy in 60 seconds or less.
I use my boom-box constantly to drive my mother skitzo.

Things that are different:
The dirty old couch is gone, a crib has replaced it.
My Bee is a brownish color, not the pretty pink you see in the picture.
My feet are about 3 sizes larger.
I've updated my cell phone to the Chocolate.

Playtime in the Park

Yesterday I enjoyed the beautiful weather by having a picnic in the park with my friend Danger and our mommies of course. How could a mommy name their child Danger you ask? Well Danger is his middle name, and the boy likes to live a little on the edge. Notice how he has no shoes on? Well that is because he gloriously fell into the pond behind us chasing ducks (or was it turtles?), and was soaked up to the waist. HE LOVED IT. That is my kind of guy.

Sister Wubsky

I love my sister so much, she's my baby. I like to give her new names, like today I've named her Wubsky. She's a good sport about it. She just nods and agrees with me because she loves me so much too.

I Love to Shop

Mom took me to a dress shop on Madison Ave, because I need a flower girl dress for my Uncle Steve and Auntie Nora's wedding. Yep, I get to be a FLOWER GIRL. I've been reading up on my responsibilities and I think I'm up for the task. Especially the first one, which involves my favorite pastime- shopping. Mom showed me a boring white dress, but I immediately fell in love with this gorgeous pink organza number (which looks great with sneakers). Mimi thinks I would upstage the bride, but come on, I'm not even in her league yet. I think of it more as I would be a nice complement next to the bride. Besides the groom of course. I think the deal breaker is the price- a little girl doesn't need a dress over $200, if you catch my drift. Especially when I can find another one for less than half that online- another GREAT place to shop.

The Back Field

Behind the house Mimi and Pops live in, is a big field with grass as high as the top of my head. Lulu loves to go and take strolls in the field and I like to chase her. Unfortunately I get lost in the grass, or stuck, or fall and I have trouble keeping up with Lulu. I didn't find any dragons back here, but I did find lots of bugs.

My Discovery

I went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum during my trip to California and boy was it fun! It is by far the coolest children's museum in the whole world as far as I'm concerned. I've been to the NY Children's Museum many times and the Bay Area one is on a whole new level. Don't let the websites fool you- the NY kids may look like they are having more fun, but they really aren't.

I met up with my old pal Spencer and we had a blast at the Tot Spot river where we played with plastic fish and frogs for about an hour. I liked collecting the fish (especially swiping them from other kids) and then bringing them over to my cache where mom and mimi were sitting. Spencer liked taking the fish and hiding them in different places (like under the mote). At one point I felt like connecting with nature, so I dipped my hand in the water and drank right out of the stream, just like I would if I were hiking in the mountains. Mom got pretty upset- she said that it was disgustingly dirty water and I might get really sick. What does she know, I felt better than ever after this refreshing moment. It sure tasted better than the pool water in La Quinta.

This was just the beginning. Afterwards we went to Lookout Cove and did so much more. It was a great day. I took a three hour nap after my excursion.

Photography with Murray

Yesterday I went to Petaluma with my mom and Mimi and little sister and we had our portraits taken by Murray. I think that he's a really talented photographer, but I'll wait until I see the proofs. He let me look into his camera viewfinder and that was really great. It's a lot fancier than my pink Barbie digital cam, and it's a lot trickier to use. Mom was worried that I was going to hurt it, but I was really careful.

Look at My Eggs!

The Easter bunny came and hid 36 eggs for me! Lulu the dog ate 3 eggs and I found 30 eggs, so there are still 3 eggs in the garden waiting for someone to find them. Aren't the eggs beautiful?

My Easter Bonnet

Dress up is my new favorite game and I love to play it in woman's boutiques. Don't you like this combination? I made it myself. I saw the shoes first and immediately knew I had to put them on. I was wearing jeans with this top, but they had to go. Shoes always come first. Then I stole the purse from a mannequin and found the hat on a shelf. It's not my size, but that's not necessarily what fashion is about. It might just work as an Easter Bonnet. Happy Easter.

A Long and Wonderful Week

It's been a long week of swimming and playing. I'm pooped, in a good way. Now it is relaxation time with me and my Bee under the palm tree. Fanks Brammy for a great week in the desert. Now I have to prepare for the Easter Bunny.

Sharing is Caring

I had a great week in Palm Desert and one of the best parts is that I got to hang out with my Aunt Mish. She lives in LA so I don't get to see her very much. She seemed to have a fun time and was really good at holding the babies (secretly she gets butterflies because she gets a bit nervous holding small babies, especially the really little ones with no neck muscles). She was lots of fun to hang out with and taught me "Sharing is Caring".

Yoga with Brammy

My Brammy is a math wiz (she writes textbooks about that stuff) and she’s also a yoda master. I mean yoga master. She does yoga and I try to copy her moves. Look at my Downward Dog. It's a 10 if I do say so myself.

More Swimming

I have earned the nickname "Little Mermaid" from swimming so much. You can't see my tail in this picture, but it's there, I swear. My Auntie has been giving me swimming lessons everyday, so I can become a star swimmer like my daddy. My past week has been spent in the pool. I've earned my tail.

Swimming Again

I am taking a break from the cold NYC weather and living it up in Palm Springs. We've been having some pretty wicked wind storms here, but that doesn't keep me from the pool. I swam in the hot tub for about two hours and relearned how to blow bubbles, reach my arms, kick, and boss everyone around in the water. I love to tell other people go underwater, but I refuse to do it myself.

Me, Grammy, and the Other Ones

Here is me and MY grammy, and the other newer babies. They are grandkids too, I guess. Last year the picture would have been just me and my grammy, but times are changing. It was little sis' baptism today so she is wearing a pretty white dress. And Maddie, my cousin is next to her. I still have lots of love to go around, so after this picture I gave kisses.

Doing work at Grammy's

Every Monday I get to go to Grammy's house and I love it because she puts me to work immediately. I get to mop and vacuum and sweep (she's a clean freak so she likes me to do all three on her kitchen floor before she's satisfied). And this is just in the second hour of being at Grammy's house. In the first hour I have already flossed my teeth, lotioned my face, perfumed my neck, and put on jewelry. I could never clean without looking like a proper lady- there's just something special about vacuuming with jewels on. If I had my way, I'd be wearing high heels too. After I clean the floors, she lets me cook fake pears in the oven.

Mixin Again

I was watching the Foo Fighters over the weekend and realized that David Grohl and I have the same hairstyle. That is, when he's onstage singing and when I'm working real hard, we both let our hair down. Here I'm helping Auntie Laura season the salad for dinner. As you well know, I just love to spice things up.

Me and Luvey

Here's a great picture of me and luvey. Mom calls her that a lot and so do I. I'm always looking around for luvey so that I can give her hugs, or kisses, or both. I tend to say and do whatever mom does. If mom burps the baby, then I burp the baby. If mom sucks snot out of baby's nose with the bulb, then so do I. If mom changes baby's diaper, then I do. And I talk like mommy too. I say words like "Great", "Okay", and some other things mom doesn't know she says so much. Now she knows.

Snowday

The newscasters finally made a true prediction and it snowed! Dad took a snow day and we went to the park where he proceeded to teach me how to make snow angels and snowballs. I also learned that dad is just as good at manning a sled as he is at driving a car- not so much. He crashed a couple of times and then I flat out refused to go with him. I may be two, but I'm not stupid.

Playdate with C

Last week I went to the park with one of my friends, C. We had a great time playing on the jungle gym and getting a bit of fresh air, especially because snow was forecasted for the weekend. Look how great we swing together (with a little help from C's dad). We even made pees together in the restroom (with a little help from C's dad). What a life.

That's a Dinosaur

I made my first trip to the Museum of Natural History this weekend, which is kind of ironic since I only live a couple of blocks away from it. Oh well, better late than never. I didn't want to go, but my parents forced me. We went straight to the dinosaurs which I thought were neat, but I didn't really understand the concept. I did enjoy the interactive computers which I took full advantage of since I was allowed to use them (unlike our puter at home which I can't touch without getting yelled at).

My favorite stop was the museum store where there were many beautiful things. At first I wanted the book and then I saw the stickers and puzzles, and the beautiful green sippy cup....I WANTED IT ALL and I screamed and screamed to let the whole museum know, that I love to shop like my mommy. Dad was petrified, not like the bones, and couldn't get out of there quick enough.

Swinging Big GIrl Style

I'm enjoying a freakishly warm February day in Central Park. (65 degrees F in February) I thought it was time I showed my moves on the big girl swing. I also did a lap around the great lawn and chased after many squirrels. I'm so big girl that it didn't make me tired at all and I was still bouncing off the walls once we got home.

Kharma

I hurt my sister and higher powers intervene. Do you notice my big booboo? Or my third eye as some people call it? Well I was playing at Grammy's house and I fell down the basement stairs. I can't really tell you much about it, as it was all pretty much a blur, but I can prove it happened by the war wounds.

I Like to Terrorize My Sister (and Gramps thinks it's funny)

I'm the big girl now and I make sure my sister knows it by poking her in the eye. I'm really quick at it too, so much so that people don't know if I really hurt her or not. Gramps is getting slow in his old age and he completely misses the torture maneuver. (He's not really laughing at the crying baby.) She's too much of an angel anyways, and the way mom coddles her, well I figure she needs some pain in her life.
(I also really like to throw heavy objects into her crib when she's sleeping.)

Special Note: Gramps isn't senile yet, and I only terrorize little sister 3.5 % of the time. The other 96% of the time I give her tons of love. The other .5% is undetermined.

Happy New Year

I can't show you a picture from my New Year's Eve because it was too wild and crazy and I don't want mom to be mad that I really partied hard, so I'm showing a picture from Holly's birthday party, Blades of Glory, instead. We all went ice skating, well I watched mom and dad from the sidelines and learned about ice skating at Lasker. It was great and I was really helpful because I kept yelling "Don't Fall!" to everyone.

SHAKE THAT BOOTEE

One day I came home from Brammy's house and I had learned a new thing; how to shake my BOOTEE! Yeah! First I told Jenna, my teacher, when she was helping me use the bathroom. She thought it was really funny. Then I started doing it around the house, just to feel it out, see what kind of results I would get from mom and dad. The results were favorable, so now I do it everywhere and usually when I am excited. I have even perfected the bend of my butt, so that I can spank it while I shake it. It is definitely one of my best dance moves yet.

My New Camera

Santa Claus brought me some really great gifts and I have been having a blast perfecting my skills. My digital camera is the bomb, and I can take 60 pictures in about 2 minutes flat. Here is me and my family through my eyes. Pretty cool huh? My next step is figuring out how to record music to my movies with my new Barbie keyboard. Notice the fabulous chair that is just my size? I obviously was a very good girl this year.

My Newest Cuz

It's been a busy week with all the last minute shopping I've had to do to get ready for Christmas. And to top it all off, my new baby cousin Maddie arrived on December 23rd! She's so cute and tiny! She was even smaller than me and I was pretty small. She'll be big in no time and I can't wait to play peek-a-boo with her and sing songs and all that other good stuff.

Snow is White!

I woke up this morning and was paralyzed with amazement when I looked out the window. It was raining, but the rain was white! Dad told me it was snow. A little later I put on my warmest clothes (no gloves mind you- my mom hasn't bought me any yet!!) and Dad and I went into Central Park. We were some of the very few who ventured into the park. The playground was a virtual ghost yard. All the other kids were too afraid of the snow to come out to play. Not me of course.

By the way, for the 80's generation out there- don't I look like a young Madonna in the below shot?

Art Appreciation

I love to draw and I value fashion too. So much so that I often like to make myself into a piece de resistance. Or something like that. My sketchbook wasn't enough. When I have a pen in hand I am so given into the temptation of using myself as a canvas. Just one of my very few flaws.

Peppers and Drumstix

Thanksgiving was a long day and A LOT of food. For hors d' oeuvres I had red, yellow, and orange sweet peppers. Yum! I love peppers. I also drank a lot of water. My friend Heidi was there. I tried to share my peppers with her, but she doesn't like peppers, just stuffed peppers, and she says that she only likes the stuffing, not the pepper. Too bad for her. I'll eat her peppers. I love peppers. For dinner I ate meat, but I would only eat meat off the bone, so I ate the drumstix. That means I ate a lot of meat because a turkey leg is BIG. No messing around there. And I don't mess around.

Restaurant Entertainment

For those of you who don't know, my mom's numerologist told her that I have the same numbers as Martha Stewart, which is why I love to spend hours cleaning at school (and my teachers love me for it). I always fight it out with other students as to who gets to wash the dishes after lunch. I usually win.

Besides cleaning, I am also teaching myself about spices. I get the most practice when I go out to restaurants. At this particular restaurant I am making fabulous fresh pepper, garlic, salt, and dried arugala mix. My parents aren't bothered by my experimenting, because they don't have to clean it up or pay for it- you don't get charged for spice consumption when dining out and it keeps me occupied so that they can eat. Above is a picture at a yummy Italian restaurant in Chelsea. This is the first time we ate out as a family with the new baby. What fun.

Me and Baby Sister

I really love my baby sister. I like to put my face right up next to hers and give her kisses. I have been singing her songs, really loudly, right in her face too, just to make sure she hears them. I also like to share my food with her, I tried to feed her a cracker the other day, but mom got really upset, and I thought I was being so nice, sharing like a big sister should. It is a little confusing with my baby sister, because I am trying to be so nice to her and hanging out with her, but mom gets a little spastic when I do. I think mom is having some personal issues. Doesn't everyone just want to be loved?

Where's Waldo....uhm, Tassy?

With a new person in the family spitting up all the time, and having power blow-outs (no that isn't me anymore) we sure have a lot of laundry to do. We did seven loads of laundry over the weekend and boy was it a chore. I really like it though because I get to help dad and he gives me rides in the cart. Can you find me?

Me at Mohonk

About a week after Tula was born, we went to the Mohonk House for a long weekend to enjoy the fall foliage in the Adirondacks. It was great because I was able to hang out with Mimi and Pops a whole lot- I even got to sleep in their room. Pops always has gummy candies on hand, so I follow him around everywhere. I dig treats the most. Besides eating candy, I ate a lot of meat and noodles and corn. MMM, I love corn on the cob. I needed lots of food because I hiked a lot around Mohonk Lake and around the huge building- the long, wide hallways are great for running in (even though there are signs that say "Parents, don't let your kids run in the hallways."). I also was able to go on my first rowboat ride- don't I look smashing in my life vest?

I'm a Big Sister!

After waiting since January, I finally have a little sister! It is a pretty big event and I'm somewhat fragile right now, but it is neat to have a little baby around. She has really little fingers and toes and she sleeps all the time. I love to give her tisses on the cheek. I'm going to write more later because I want to hang out with my fam right now. You can see more pictures of Tula.

Breakfast with Aunties Laura and Nora

I am such a lucky little girl because I have two beautiful Aunts with rhyming names (and they both even look alike)! I went to brunch with them and had such a wonderful time because they both love me so much and are very attentive. I love them too. We talk and play and joke around, I couldn't be happier sitting between the two of them.

The Baby is Coming

I don't know when exactly the baby is coming, but mom says any day now. Mom was due on October 3rd, but her original due date was October 10th, so it's any body's guess as to when the baby will arrive. She went to the doctor's the other day to see how the baby was doing inside her belly and they told her it was about 8 and a half pounds. That's a big baby! I guess the baby is doing just fine and doesn't want to come out. I am somewhat ambivalent about the whole process, but I will be very excited to have a baby to play with. Mommy says that I am still her favorite daughter, but not for long. Pretty soon she will have two favorite daughters.
