I'm Still the Cutest

I've been so busy lately practicing walking and swinging in the park that I have had very little time to BLOG. I had a wonderful first birthday (as you can see from the last post) and now it's back to life as usual. I eat bananas in the morning, yogurt in the afternoon, and sweet potatoes with chicken at night. It's subsidized by food off my mom's plate (or dirt from the plant pots if I'm really sneaky). Oh yeah, and lots of Cheerios. I love crawling around, especially in my tutu, but I am still afraid to walk.

I can stand by myself, but I rarely do it, because I am too afraid. I can even run around the apartment, that is if I am holding onto someones hands. I absolutely hate going to bed at night, and even during the afternoon if action is going on. I usually give a bloodcurdling scream when I am left in my crib alone. And I love doing somersaults on mommy and daddy's bed (Grammy taught me how). Well I have to go start my day, so I'll talk to you all later.

Here I am SOO BIG. I have even moved onto milk, no more formula for this girl!

Cassica...My Birthday Week

What a great 1st birthday week I had. It began a couple days early with a bottle of pink champagne from Amy Lynn. Unfortunately for me I was only able to play with the bottle. I still am not sure what to do with presents, but there were many children at my birthday who were able to help me out.

I received some really great gifts, like my own stroller! And a pink tutu! I never even knew this kind of stuff existed.

I know these pictures make it look like I was the only one at my party, but there were like 20 people there. I'm serious! It was great. I really liked being a show off in front of everyone.

The best part was the cake. I have never tasted anything so glorious. It was so yummy. I got it everywhere.

My Dan Marino Toy

Dan says, "This post is dedicated to Andy, the biggest blogger fan in the world."

Hi, This is me hanging out with my pal Dan. He's great because I can manhandle him all I want. I like to flip him upside down and bounce him. Unfortunately, I don't have any good pictures of me tossing him. Did you know that he's the greatest quarterback to never win the Superbowl? It breaks my heart, but to console myself I just wear my Isotoner gloves, because they make my hands warm.

Chicago

I took a maiden voyage to Chicago over the weekend with my parents and it was super duper. My parents like to go there for an amazing opening day party and this year was its 12th year running. I can't wait till I'm old enough to go! I also went to the zoo and saw apes. We stayed in Wrigleyville and it was great because the apartment was big so I got to crawl around a lot. I also was able to spend quality time with my uncles. That is not a thug, it is my Uncle Steve, but he doesn't like to smile for any pictures. I am also hanging out with my Uncle Jeff. We went to a really yummy restaurant called Absinthe in the Ukrainian Village where Steven lives. It is probably good that my Uncle Steve looks badass, because you can get shot in that part of town. I was really good at dinner and sat on my moms lap and chewed on bread. A lot of other patrons were impressed because I am such a good baby.

Storm King

On Sunday my family took a road trip about an hour north of New York City. In the morning we had breakfast and walked around the town of Cold Springs and then we went to Storm King Sculpture Park. It is amazing. The park is very big and the sculptures are huge. It was really neat to hike around and see all of the amazing art, especially on such a nice day. It was a long one and by the end of it, I was whooped.

My First Swimming Lesson

I have begun a new swim regime with my dad on Saturdays. I am learning to swim and he is learning how to burn off the beer gut. At the rate we move around the pool, it will take years to see that thing disappear, but I am having a grand time learning the colors and the signs for the rings. I am still on the fence about my swim instructor. He dunked me in class and I didn't like it at all because he kept me under for about 5 minutes. It felt more like a drowning to me. I survived the ordeal, but I am excited to see Auntie Laura Thursday for a makeup lesson. (I can't make Saturday because I am going to Chicago for Opening Day) Maybe she'll be nicer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope that everyone is getting their groove on- I've already begun the festivities at my place, playing some Irish jigs. Bucknell plays basketball today, so make sure you root for them as you throw back your frothy cold ones! Well I have to go practice up on my bagpiping so HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY from your favorite lass!

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Last night we celebrated Grammy's Birthday at a yummy seafood restaurant in New York City. I felt really special because Grammy wanted me to sit on her lap all night. Nobody else got to sit on (or get fed by) the Birthday Girl. I'm pretty lucky. I was really tired because my parents took me walking all over the West Side because it was such a beautiful day. I also got to go on the swings. Some lady thought I was a boy because I have no hair and she even said "Look at that little boy wearing ballet slippers". My mommy told me later that I shouldn't worry about it because that woman was obviously very "out of touch" with the real world. I thought she was just stupid. But Grammy's Celebration was a lot of fun and she doesn't look a year older at all (even though I never saw her a year ago because I am only 10 months).

Playing Tunes with Dad

Tonight Dad and I played guitar together. He's a little slow, so I had to show him some tricks. Maybe someday he will have skills like I do, but for now we can only hope.... and give him weekly lessons. I love to play. I was born with a guitar.

Broadway Babies

Every Wednesday my mommy and I go to a class called Broadway Babies. I'm practicing to be a star just like my Aunt Mish. You can see my friend Jaden and I preparing for class in the first picture.

I was really excited because todays show was Peter Pan. That means that we sing a lot of songs from the Peter Pan play, and our in house actors dress like Peter Pan and Wendy.

We had a great time playing with ducks and banging on drums. Here you can see me counting the eyes on my crazy pink bird puppet. I found out that it has two eyes.

In this next picture you can see Jaden growing. We all watered him with our water cans and he started to grow, just like a seed. There are lots of other nice kids in my class, especially one named Devon. Last week I was making eyes at him and smiling at him. I think that he noticed me. Also, there is Chloe, but she wasn't at class for Peter Pan.

It's Been a Long Day

I had a great day today. It was so great in fact that I only took one short nap because I didn't want to miss any playtime. I might have had a world record tonight for jumping. My daddy put me in the jumper around 8pm and I jumped for about 3 hours straight. I guess I must have just passed out. I mean, even the Jumpster gets tired sometimes.

My New Pal Alisa

My mommy found a nanny for me named Alisa. She and I have been hanging out for the past couple of days while mommy gets stuff done. I guess she's my newest friend. We hang out and I get to show her how my Leapfrog music table works. I also like to clap and talk to her a lot. Alisa is funny, so she tells me lots of jokes. She also changes my diaper and feeds me lots of bottles which I like. We like to go on walks through Central Park, because that is my backyard.

Mimi and Me

My Grandmother Mimi is visiting me in New York this weekend and we've been hanging out a lot. She's been trying to feed me some gross new foods like this pea soup. Yuck. I guess she doesn't know that I don't like anything green. Oh well. At least we get to shop a lot and go to museums. We went to the Met today and mommy got mad because they wouldn't allow strollers into the special exhibit. Mom stuck up for my rights and was able to talk to someone high up who got the okay to let me into the Rauschenberg show. I have to say that for such a metropolitain city, there are many places in NYC that bar children. It is a sad day when I am not allowed to see an exhibit because I can't walk. Next thing you know the elderly won't get in because of their wheelchairs. I guess I better learn to walk.
Mimi has been looking for the right size box to send me back to California in because she doesn't want to leave me in New York. Mom doesn't know this so please don't tell her. I want to go to California because it is really cold in NYC and I want to be warm.

Would you be my Valentine?

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
I hope you're feeling the love. I am pretty pumped up because my parents couldn't find a sitter so I get to go to dinner with them!! Thank goodness I am a good girl. I'm still looking for a valentine though...

A Walk in the Park

My parents decided that we should take a walk in Central Park because it stopped snowing for a little while and we needed some fresh air. We all bundled up and walked into a winter wonderland. It was the first time I saw snow firsthand and it was pretty cool, literally and figuratively. Lots of people looked at me and smiled because they thought I was pretty cute. Now I'm going to take a nap.

Having a Snack

When nobody is able to feed me a bottle I have to feed myself. I am having a snack during the snowstorm. Thank goodness I am warm and cozy inside because there is a foot and a half of snow outside. I can't wait because dad said he would read me Spongebob Squarepants after my snack...

...but he was too busy so I have to read it to myself. Spongebob is my favorite. I like his eyes and his color. I like to read about all of his friends. When I'm not reading about him I enjoy chewing on his nose or tie (I have a Spongebob Beanie Baby that I get cozy with). If I don't have my BB to chew on, then I like chewing on the corner of my book. Today is a great Sunday.

Steelers Domination

THE STEELERS WON THE SUPERBOWL!! It seems that my daddy loves me a lot more now because the Steelers won, but I don't understand this. I think that he loves the Steelers more because he went to the game and left me at home with mommy. I had a good time with my mom and the game was pleasant because she doesn't get as emotional (and sauced) as my dad.

AUNTIE JILL, HOW DORKY AM I LOOKING NOW?

Panty Party

I went to my first Panty Party ever. It is an annual party that my mom and her college friends started fourteen years ago when they were Freshman in Veddar 1 West (West is Best). I guess my dad lived in Veddar 1 East, but my mom didn't really know him back then. We met my mom's friend Christine's baby boy William for the first time. He was pretty cute and we got to change our diapers together.

We also got to wear panties together. This is the first pair of panties that I have ever worn. Who knew that I would jump right into a woman's size. I think that they fit me quit well, but it was still an emotional moment for me.

The moment passed and I started playing with William again. I told you he was cute right?
Panty Party was fun, so much fun that I didn't take a nap all day because I didn't want to miss any of the action.

I Am Trying to Crawl...

...but it hasn't really been working. My mom can get me on my hands and knees, and it is really fun when she tries scooting me around the room, but I just can't seem to get the knack of it. I get in position and this is how I look. I'm going to keep practicing and see if it works (hopefully it will-sooner rather than later). By the way- GO STEELERS!!!

I Was a Good Girl This Year

Santa had a big bag of goodies for me this year, probably because I was such a good girl. My pile of presents was larger than I am. At one point they almost toppled onto me, but my mommy saved me. I really didn't understand what was going on with all the wrapped boxes, but I liked all the toys and clothes that were inside the boxes. My best gift was Spongebob Squarepants beanie baby. I like to suck on his nose.

Doing Some Business

Today I visited my Pops (Gramps) at his workplace and helped him send out some of his mail. It was my first time in a business environment and I felt really good sitting in the president's chair. A smile works wonders when trying to sell something. I was glad to be of help, but I wasn't able to stay long because I had a lot of Christmas shopping to do.

My First Holiday Party

I went to the 6G Three pad last night for a holiday party. I was pretty excited because my dad had been talking about the food all week and I even saw Amy Lynn cooking up some pretty yummy smelling chili.

Well it lived up to its expectations. As you can seen in this picture with Katie, I dressed for the occasion.

I thoroughly enjoyed the festivities (my dad and I fighting over a cold one) and I met people my own age like Camilla aka chicken. Chicken is pretty cool and just like I was about four months ago. My mom said we might hang out some more and I am happy about that because I'm tired of hanging out with big people all the time.

Rough Day

Yesterday was a difficult day for my daddy and me. We are both big Steelers fans and our team lost. The small consolation I have is that my Pops (grandpa) grew up in Cinci and is a Bengals fan (they won). It was still a tough game because the Steelers couldn't get it together (for the 3rd game in a row). At least I look cute in my jersey which is Polamalu. For those of you who are not familiar with him, he is the player with the really long hair. I hope to have hair like that someday.

The Jumpster

Last night I wouldn't go to bed so my mom and dad put me in my jumpy swing to wear me out. It took 2 hours of solid jumping before I was ready to go to bed. I was having a blast. I can jump really high now. It worked because I woke up at ten a.m. this morning after eleven hours of sleep. The best thing was that it snowed last night, so I saw snow for the first time in my life this morning. What a day!

Amy Lynn is ENGAGED!!

My mommy's college friend Amy Lynn is engaged. I've been sucking on her fingers all night because I am so happy! She is the first (actually third- refer to comments) person I have ever known to have gotten engaged while I've been alive. Wowsers. This holiday season is on the up and up. My mommy and Amy polished off a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Amy said the wedding is going to be at the end of July. I can't wait, even though I will probably have to stay with a babysitter.

New Bib

My mom bought me a new bib when we were on vacation in the desert. It was pretty smart of her because I was ruining all of my other bibs with squash and yam droolings that didn't quite make it into my stomach. I like my bib a lot because it has kiss marks on it just like the ones my grammy leaves all over me when she sees me.
